Already played Star Citizen: can you still add a code?

Already tried Free Fly or bought Star Citizen? Playing before is not the deciding factor. Your RSI account's creation time and whether it already has a referral code determine whether you can attach one.

How to add the code within the grace period

1. Sign in to RSI using the account you already created.
2. Click your account icon. Find the code entry box at the bottom of the account summary panel.
3. Enter STAR-JTV7-FXLR and submit it before the 24 hour window expires. This deadline concerns attaching the code, not buying a package.

The prefilled signup link is for new accounts. Opening it while logged in can redirect you to the homepage; it does not modify an existing account.

Older account, but never pledged?

RSI's FAQ describes a separate support-assisted option if the account has no completed pledges and has not accepted gift pledges: ask about closing it and recreating it with a code. This is not retroactive credit on the old account. Confirm eligibility with RSI before closing anything. Owners of purchases or gifts should not expect this option to preserve their access on a replacement account.

Extra credits during testing and a possible later head start

The current signup reward is 50,000 UEC. RSI says a late code entry can delay its appearance in the in-game aUEC total. During alpha, eligible account UEC can contribute to a starting aUEC balance, but patch settings, persistence and resets determine what you see. Package-included UEC is treated differently. Do not expect an instant top-up every session or a repeat bonus after each wipe.

If you try a public Free Fly, this can be useful starting currency where the current build applies it. It does not extend the trial or grant permanent game access. Later Star Citizen access requires a Game Package. Account UEC and temporary aUEC are separate: earned alpha currency does not become a guaranteed launch balance. The referral reward may contribute to a later starting budget under RSI's rules; exact launch conditions and purchasing power remain unconfirmed.

Already beyond the code window with a purchased account? This code cannot add extra credits to it. You can still earn aUEC through missions. Check your balance in mobiGlas and the current patch notes rather than buying an item to try to unlock a second signup reward.
