Squadron 42 first, Star Citizen later: plan the account
Maintained by Domux. Editorial approach and referral disclosure
Squadron 42 is the single-player campaign. Star Citizen is the separate online game. An RSI account can hold entitlements for both, but access to one does not automatically establish access to the other.
What you can do before either purchase
Create an RSI account if you want one, and enter a valid referral code during registration. The signup link✓ Verified referral code · Today: 3 October 2026 fills in Domux's code. You can also enter STAR-JTV7-FXLR yourself. This does not require buying a ship today.
If you later continue into Star Citizen under the applicable rules, the standard account UEC reward may contribute to a starting budget. That is a conditional Star Citizen benefit. It is not a Squadron 42 campaign reward, a preorder benefit or a discount on either game. There is no promise of a future event item.
Follow the official purchase route
At the 1 October 2026 review, Squadron 42's official site announced Q2 2027 and offered an announcement signup, not an ordinary standalone checkout with a verified price. Wait for an official sales announcement before comparing costs. A mailing list registration does not reserve game access.
Owners of older packages should read My Hangar first. If Squadron 42 is listed, avoid buying duplicate access. Do not reclaim it assuming buy-back will restore it; RSI has restrictions on those old pledges.
How to keep the later Star Citizen cost down
Try a public Free Fly when one is confirmed for new accounts. If you decide to stay, compare game packages with the starter finder and the source-dated package tool. Check the final tax and licence contents at RSI. A standalone ship is optional and does not replace game access.
A future bundle or checkout add-on can only be evaluated when RSI actually offers it. Neither a cheaper future Squadron 42 price nor a specific released-game currency balance is known. See the account eligibility guide if you registered without a code.
